MS Dhoni had earlier on Thursday sent fans back in time by hitting a six off the first pitch he faced. Dhoni scored 16 from just six deliveries to take CSK beyond the 200-point mark.
CSK, on the other hand, is unable to defend 210 runs, with Evin Lewis and Quinton de Kock of Lucknow scoring rapid fifties before youthful Ayush Badoni stepped in and provided the closing touches. On a dewy night, Lucknow chased down the target with three balls to spare to begin their first IPL campaign.
