You probably haven’t seen Sourav Ganguly dance on the streets at midnight to celebrate his birthday. The BCCI president, who is now in England, danced with friends and family in front of the London Eye to commemorate his 50th birthday.

In a video that quickly became popular on social media, Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of India, can be seen dancing to Bollywood hits like “Shubha Hone Na De” and “Om Shanti Om” while wearing a jacket, pants, and a cap. Many individuals have reacted to it and shared how they felt about the video.

“Think, if watching movies from a distance can be as enjoyable, how might it be for those who were physically present with him?”

Among is Sana, Ganguly’s daughter who was also present in London with him on his birthday. Her reaction to his father’s dancing steps on “Om Shanti Om” also went viral and lots of people are sharing it on various social media platforms.

Sana Ganguly, Sourav Ganguly’s daughter, was also visible in the video and was sitting by the side admiring other people who are dancing. Sana lives in England due to her academic obligations. When she was preoccupied with her phone, her father dragged her to the dance floor for “under the night sky.”

Along with his friends and family, including his daughter Sana, Ganguly can be seen dancing in the viral video. While Ganguly and the others are dancing, Sana is seen sitting and laughing uncontrollably while covering her face in delight as “Dada” moved his hands and legs in time with the well-known song.

Someone in the group can also be heard saying,

“Sana is so embarrassed.”

Sana grudgingly agrees as Ganguly clutches her hands and begs her to join him, but she suddenly declares,

“I will be the DJ.”

Have a look at the whole video:

With the goal of celebrating his 50th birthday, Ganguly held a dinner at which the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, and BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla were also present.

Apart from normal people, many of several other former cricketers including Yuvraj Singh, Mohammed Kaif, Suresh Raina and Virender Sehwag also wished him on his important day.

Ganguly, better known as “Dada,” had an illustrious international career that lasted from 1992 to 2008 during which he accumulated 38 centuries for India and 7212 Test runs at an average of 42 and 11363 ODI runs at 41. He then served as the captain of the IPL teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Pune Warriors India toward the end of his playing career.

Ganguly also is credited with revitalizing Indian cricket in the 2000s after taking over as captain after the shocking match-fixing incident. He is widely considered the most significant Indian captain and a superb leader of men who built the basis for the squad that won the 2011 World Cup.
