Venkatesh Prasad Gives A Brilliant Reply To Wriddhiman Saha For Not Exposing Journalist Name

Wriddhiman Saha, India’s wicketkeeper-batter, recently caused a controversy in the cricketing world when he revealed conversations with an unknown journalist in which a journalist was seen threatening the experienced keeper-batter immediately after he was sacked from the national team. However, he didn’t name the journalist.

Wriddhiman Saha had already lashed out at the BCCI by revealing bombshell details about the promises he was given about his spot in the Team India team.

The 37-year old said as quoted by PTI,

“He [Ganguly] even mentioned that I should not worry about anything so long as he is at the helm of the BCCI. Such a message from the board president really boosted my confidence. But I failed to understand why everything changed so fast.”

He also mentioned how Rahul Dravid, Team India’s coach, had urged him to retire. He revealed his explosive thoughts to media persons,

“Even coach Rahul Dravid suggested that I think about taking retirement.”

Wriddhiman Saha took to Twitter to explain why he will not publish the name of the “journalist”

A journalist had sent him threatening texts after he declined an interview. He expressed himself as follows:

“I was hurt and offended. I thought not to tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kind of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in public eye, but not his/her name.”

“My nature isn’t such that I will harm anyone to the extent of ending someone’s career. So on grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being. But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back. I thank each and everyone who has shown support and extended their willingness to help. My gratitude.”

After Wriddhiman Saha, 37, turned to social media to publish remarks from a “known journalist,” the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) came out in support of him. The body said it applauded the BCCI’s move to investigate the situation and has asked the Indian cricketing body to punish the journalist and, if necessary, revoke his registration.

However, on the other hand, he has yet to name the journalist, claiming that it is not in his character to take any action that may jeopardize the journalist’s career and that he would not take the journalist’s name on humanitarian grounds.

Former Indian bowler Venkatesh Prasad encouraged Wriddhiman Saha to reveal the journalist name

This comes after Saha said on Twitter that he has opted not to name the renowned journalist out of respect for his humanity. By quoting Saha’s tweets, Venkatesh Prasad wrote a quote from sacred Bhagavad Gita,

“There is a verse in the Bhagvad Gita which translates to – “Tolerating injustice is as much a crime as committing injustice. It Is Your Duty To Fight Injustice.” It is important for Wriddhiman Saha to name this person. It will definitely set a good example.”

Fans agreed to Venkatesh’s tweet to expose the name of the journalist and backed him on Twitter
