Irfan Pathan Trolls Ravindra Jadeja For Blinking Too Much, Sir Jadeja Responds

Batting first, the Sri Lankan cricket team put up a total of 183 runs for 5 wickets on the score board in the stipulated 20 overs with the help of beautiful innings of Pathum NIssanka (75), Danushka Gunathilaka (38) and Dasun Shanaka (47). Chasing a big target of 184 runs, India had a pretty bad start as the team lost both its openers Rohit Sharma(1) and Ishan Kishan (16); however, Shreyas Iyer (74) and Sanju Samson (39) not only stabilized the innings but also paved the path for India’s triumph. Well, the highlight of the Indian innings was the batting of Ravindra Jadeja who scored 45 runs in just 18 balls and his innings included 7 fours and 1 six.

The Indian cricket team has scripted history by whitewashing the fourth consecutive limited over series at home as yesterday it defeated the Sri Lankans in the third and the final T20I of the 3-match T20I series and won the series by 3-0.

After spending almost three months out of action due to an injury, Ravindra Jadeja has made a brilliant comeback into the Indian team against Sri Lanka. After a solid bowling performance in the first match at Lucknow, Jadeja showed his batting prowess in the second game.

After earning a promotion in the batting order and walking out to bat at number five in the 2nd T20I, Jadeja made 45 runs in 18 balls to help India chase a total of 184 comfortably with 17 balls to spare. The star all-rounder’s knock included seven boundaries and one six.

While talking to the mediapersons in the virtual press conference, Ravindra Jadeja thanked his skipper Rohit Sharma for showing faith in him but there was one thing peculiar about him, Jadeja was blinking his eyes a lot. Talking in the press conference, Jadeja said,

“Yeah, absolutely, you know, I would like to thank Rohit because he trusted me and believed in me that I can score runs for my team. Hopefully, whenever I get an opportunity in the future, I’ll try and give my best, play according to the situation, and win the game for my team.”

The former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan noticed this act of Jadeja and he decided to have some fun at the latter’s expense

Irfan Pathan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote,

“Baapu needs eye drops”.

Jadeja explained that it was the first time he attended a press-conference while wearing lens

Irfan praised Jadeja by saying that the manner in which he was batting, it felt as if he had worn binoculars. Jadeja also thanked Irfan for appreciating his batting.

Pathan certainly has a good sense of humour.
