5 Indian Cricketers Who Made ODI Debut Before The Age Of 18

Cricketers are talented, yes. But imagine being so talented that they make their way to debut in an ODI, even before the age of 18.

Here are the names of 5 super talented Indian cricketers, who made an ODI debut, before they turned 18:

1. Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin played his first ODI when he was just 16 years old. Turns out sweet-sixteen was legit for him. His first ODI was against Pakistan back in 1989.

Since the time he started playing ODI, he continued to remain an integral part of the Indian cricket team. Until the day he officially retired from the game. Also, he did manage to win an ODI, even towards the end of his cricket career.

2. Maninder Singh

Maninder debuted in an ODI, when he was 17, back in 1983. The match was against Pakistan. He was one of the best ballers. He had a technique to beat the batsman by getting the ball above the batsman’s eye.

Though his expectancy to be and play for the team was long, he didn’t last long. He just debuted in 35 ODI’s overall.

3. Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan was just 17 when we made his first ODI debut. The match was against New Zealand, back in 1998. He was expedited to be an integral part of the team. Though he still plays and is a very good player, there’s no discussion of him being a part of the Indian team.

But this very talented cricketer holds a score of over 400 test wickets for India.

4. Parthiv Patel

Parthiv made his ODI debut in 2003, the match against New Zealand. He was selected as a backup wicketkeeper. Back then Rahul Dravid was playing as the main wicketkeeper for white-ball cricket.

Though Dravid gave up his wicket-keeping gloves after the match in 2004-2005. Parthiv didn’t get a chance to get that, since MS Dhoni got selected for that position.
