5 Talented Cricketers From Uttar Pradesh In Indian Cricket Team

Kanpur is one of the most populous cities in India. The city is located in Uttar Pradesh and it did not fail to contribute some amazing talents to the Indian Cricket spectrum. With bringing colors to the Indian Team when it comes to the international basis.

Here’s the list of the top 5 International Indian Cricket players who made it big from Uttar Pradesh:

1. RP Singh

The man who practically helped India to notch up the maiden T-20 World Cup. Though he had a huge part when it comes to Indian cricket, his tenure didn’t last for too long. The main reason behind his career being so short is because of his inconsistency and his losing his fitness quality rapidly.

Though he was short-lived in the field, he did play 14 Tests, 58 ODI’s, and 10 T20I’s since 2005. Back in 2011, Singh lost his shape and as expected he was removed from the Indian Cricket Team. Which did cause a hurdle to his cricket career, and caused him to exit from the big screen itself.

2. Mohammad Kaif

Kaif was Ganguly’s primary weapon in the field. Kaif mastered hammering English bowlers. He even paved the way for a humdinger victory that set the course for India’s sails of bravery overseas.

Listed as one of the best fielders on the side and his batting was also very reliable. Though his performance was amazing, this tenure was not a long one. Because his performance started deteriorating which led him to be out of the selection list.

Also, he played around 13 Tests, in which he scored around 3000 international runs before fading away from the cricketing spectrum.

3. Praveen Kumar

One of the most amazing wicket-keepers India had. He literally humiliated England in 2011 with a wicket score of 15.

Though as a player he was an absolute catch. But when it came to his temper, it wasn’t something that favored others. For which he was out of the selection list.

With 6 Tests and 68 ODI’s Praveen ended his cricket career internationally.

4. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Kumar is currently India’s swing specialist and one of the best bowlers. He’s also the only Indian cricketer who dismissed Tendulkar for a duck in a domestic match.

He played around 63 scalps from 21 tests, and 132 scalps from 114 ODI. He’s a very efficient player and can be comfortable with any given challenge. Every time captain needed a breaking of partnership, Kumar was always the one.

5. Suresh Raina

One of the very well-known names, Raina is yet another cricket expert from UP. Though he excelled at hitting short-range balls, he couldn’t hold much time in international cricket.

He was seen in T-20, Test, and domestic matches as well. Also, he did end up having a century in the shortest format of a game. But he did fade into oblivion as time passed anyway.
