5 Indian Cricketers Who Turned From Best Friends To Enemies

It is true when people say we do not meet people by accident, they are meant to cross our path for a reason. The unexpected kind of friendship is indeed the best one. Such unexpected and beautiful friendships are very well witnessed in the Indian National Cricket Team. The beauty of a team game is how it gives us people who first become our friends and then a part of our family. But often such beautiful friendships do not last for a lifetime. Even best friends end up becoming worst enemies.

There are many renowned cricketers who first shared a bromance but later became enemies.

In the Indian Cricket team, many beautiful friendships turned into animosity. While many duos were able to restore their friendship some could not, leaving the fans all speechless and downhearted. Today we are going to talk about such beautiful on-field and off-field friendships that went all downhill as bitterness took charge in the fellowship.

1. MS Dhoni – Yuvraj Singh

Two of the strongest pillars of the Indian Cricket team who made the win of ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011 possible, yes we are talking about MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. Yuvi and MSD’s friendship is the one that existed in the Indian cricket since a really long time but it deteriorated after Yuvi was dropped from the Indian national team by skipper Dhoni. After Yuvi’s retirement he vehemently and publicly said how it was Dhoni’s lack of support which made his career end so soon.

2. Sachin Tendulkar – Vinod Kambli

Sachin and Vinod’s friendship dates back to their early training days for cricket. It was cricket that brought them closer as they were on the same school team and later under the guidance of the same coach, Ramakant Achrekar. They shared a bond of brotherhood that went downhill when Kambli was dropped from the Indian team. With time disparities and differences arose. Tendulkar not inviting Kambli to his retirement party hurt Kambi’s sentiments. However, it is believed that they now have restored their friendship to a decent level as they met on the Friendship Day of 2019.

3. Gautam Gambhir – Virat Kohli

Regardless of belonging to different generations Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli has always shared a great bond. The bromance started when Kohli hit his first international century back in 2009 while playing against Sri Lanka and had a great partnership record with Gambhir. Gambhir was awarded the Player of the Match for his overall outstanding performance but he handed it over to Kohli. However it all went to the ruins when in 2013 IPL this duo went on a brawl with allegedly badmouthing one another and ending their friendship. This is one of the worst fight in the tournament’s history.
